SearchDash ("we", "our", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Chrome extension.
SearchDash does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. This includes:
• Search queries — Your search terms are sent directly to the search engine you choose (Google, Bing, etc.) via your browser. We never see, intercept, or log them.
• Browsing history — We do not track which websites you visit or when.
• Personal identifiers — We do not collect your name, email address, IP address, or any other personally identifiable information.
• Analytics — SearchDash contains no analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party SDKs.
All data is stored exclusively on your device using Chrome's built-in
chrome.storage.sync API. This data syncs across your Chrome browsers via your
Google account and never reaches our servers. The stored data includes:
• Your list of enabled/disabled search engines and their order
• Your settings (dark mode, default engine, selection toolbar preferences)
• Your Pro license key (if purchased)
Payments for SearchDash Pro are processed entirely by Creem, our payment provider. Creem collects and processes your payment information according to their own Privacy Policy. SearchDash never receives or stores your credit card details.
The text selection toolbar appears when you highlight text on any webpage. The selected text is processed locally on your device and is never sent to any server. It is only used to populate the search query when you click a search engine button.
When you click a search engine button, your browser navigates to that search engine's website (e.g., google.com, bing.com). At that point, you are subject to that search engine's own privacy policy. SearchDash does not insert any tracking or affiliate codes into search URLs.
SearchDash is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
